RE-SEALING AND SEALERS

Once a decorative concrete floor is finished the best way of keeping it looking great it is to seal and protect its surface.

Your new or resurfaced decorative concrete is treated with an acrylic sealer to help produce an attractive surface that is easier to clean and maintain than unsealed concrete. The sealer works by blocking the pores of the concrete, providing a protective layer that helps stop dirt becoming ingrained and helps achieve a more consistent look.

Acrylic sealers wear over time, however if your driveway has been well maintained you will maximise the lifetime and look of your job by resealling every 18-24 months.

BEFORE & AFTER

When resealing, the new coat of sealer needs to bind with the old coat. If you leave the job for more than 2 years the solvent may have evaporated out of the sealer making it hard for the new coat to reactivate with the old coat. Always reseal with the appropriate sealer to suit your decorative surface and to only apply to properly prepared and dry surfaces. CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Looking after your decorative concrete surface

Parchem Construction Supplies manufacture some of the hardest wearing decorative concrete systems in the world.  Given the right care and maintenance, your decorative concrete surface will maintain its colour and appeal for decades.  There are a couple of steps you should take to ensure that you get the most out of  your concrete surface.

Essential Care: It is essential that your decorative concrete surface is resealed periodically in order to lock in the colour, protect the surface from impurities and maintain its glossy appeal.  We recommend resealing once every 18-24 months.

Use only Parchem Construction Supplies range of Sealers.

Cleaning: Clean your decorative concrete surface regularly.

Avoid: Debris build up on your concrete surface.

Oil drops: It is advised that you clean up oil spills, brake fluid or other chemical spills.

Car washing: Avoid washing your car on your driveway, as car wash products contain waxes and other ingredients that may build up on the surface.
